Join WriteBoston for Pros&Conversation: our annual fundraiser and a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of our students, teachers, and community.
Guests will hear compelling conversations between acclaimed published authors and Teens in Print youth writers. They’ll also mingle with some of our writers, pick up free copies of the authors’ books, and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres with friends.

Carmen Fields
Carmen Fields is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist known for her role as host and producer at WHDH-TV, showcasing her commitment to impactful storytelling. Her book, Going Back to T-Town: The Ernie Fields Territory Big Band, celebrates the rich history of her father’s legendary jazz ensemble and was recently nominated for Best Biography / Autobiography of the year by the Jazz Journalists Association.
Porsha Olayiwola
Porsha Olayiwola blends her talents as a poet, performer, educator, and curator to inspire and challenge audiences, currently serving as the City of Boston’s Poet Laureate. Her acclaimed work, “i shimmer sometimes, too,” highlights her skill as the Individual World Poetry Slam Champion, reflecting her unique voice rooted in Afro-futurism, magical realism, and sci-fi.
Dr. Kimberly N. Parker
Dr. Kimberly N. Parker is dedicated to transforming education as an educator and as the Director of the Crimson Summer Academy at Harvard, focusing on access and equity. Her book, Literacy is Liberation: Working Toward Justice Through Culturally Relevant Teaching, articulates her vision for a more just and inclusive educational system.
